There was: pine schnapps in abundance, along with lots of new information about the upcoming "Summer of Automobiles".
We now look forward to Retro 2016.
As a side event during the Ennstal Classic, on 18 July 2015 Mr. Charles Morgan, grandson of the founder of Morgan Company H.F.S. Morgan and son of Peter Morgan, officially opens "Morgan Street" in the castle park. The ceremonies are attended by castle guests including Michael Cole (BBC journalist and spokesman for the Royal Family), participants in the Classic such as Richard Frankel, the Neumärker family and Georg Geyer (winner of his car era in the EC 2015).
The christening of this Street by Charles Morgan in person represents a crowning moment for Schloss Thannegg as a long-standing "Club Hotel in the Alps" and active member of the European Morgan scene.
Schloss Thannegg is an extraordinary holiday destination for lovers of Morgans, convertibles and vintage cars as well as individualists. Our guests treasure the stylish, yet informal atmosphere. They enjoy a "simple life in the country", together with outstanding food and drink, as they do our authentic castle rooms. Also included: free, secure parking (a special area reserved for vintage automobiles) on the castle grounds for those beautiful pieces of automotive history. (Check out our location on google maps).
Retrospective: Beginning in 1993, the first Ennstal Classic awards ceremonies (Walter Röhrl) were held at the castle. Since then, convertibles and classic automobiles have been drawn, almost like a magnet, to our castle. In fact, just a few months ago we were even visited by Sir Sterling and Mrs. Suzie Moss.
The IVC Mountain Division with Achim Althammer on the Stoderzinken was included in Morgan Club 2015 rankings.
Please send us a message. We would be delighted to add you to our Ennstal Classic mailing list.
"Lord of the Castle" Ernst, an avid driver of a Morgan Eight, is happy to share valuable tips for unforgettable tours on the same routes as the Ennstal Classic. He will help you plan your route and join you personally on weekly Monday Drives.
